Girlhood 101 πŸŽ€πŸ₯‚

                 Girlhood 101

We all know that being a girl comes with a multitude of obstacles that only girls can relate to !! And that’s ok !! In todays blog post, and for my first, I thought talking about girlhood would be the perfect start πŸŒΈπŸ«Ά

                           πŸŽ€πŸ©°πŸ’—

When I look back at being a young girl, I wish I could have prepared little me for everything a teenage girl goes through; body image issues, friendship fall outs, first kisses and so many other things.

                          πŸŒΈπŸ¦©πŸ’„

Navigating friendships through my teens was definitely a challenge. Through secondary school, I had a few different friendships groups. Falling out with your friends is completely normal and something every girl group goes through. It’s like a nasty fall out with your sister only it feels like a breakup. One thing I wish I could tell my secondary school self was that these girls your friends with are simply just girls you know and in a few years time when you get to university, only your real friends would have stuck about. Talking about friendships in uni, can we pleaseeee address how difficult it is to make friendships in your late teen/ twenties πŸ₯² Thankfully I had my childhood best-friend with me so that was half a battle, but venturing out from your small town friendships is difficult !!

Dealing with body image is not something anyone wants to do but at some point in life everyone does come face to face with it. Going from your childhood body to your teenage body to your womanly body is something that just always effected me. When I was in secondary school it felt like a competition of whose school skirt was the smallest or who ate the littlest at lunch, and for what ?? As a 20 year old now, I look back at my 16 year old self and just want to hug her honestly. Never feel alone in such dark thoughts of body image because I can guarantee you, every woman in your life has had the same thoughts. Your body takes you through life and allows you to experience things and see things and feel things so why abuse it for the sake of a smaller skirt size or 100 calories worth less of food.

                           πŸ’πŸ‘™πŸ’–

Keeping good hygiene as a girl is so important. When your body changes and goes from pre pubescent to a teenager, things change, and that’s totally normal and ok !! Maintaining a good routine isn’t something that’s always taught to young children. Showering and using deodorant. Washing your face and moisturising. Spraying body spray or perfume. Brushing your teeth. Just small things to maintain good hygiene πŸ«Ά

When I was in school I genuinely thought it was crazy how bad behaved student acted. The importance of education genuinely is something I could talk about for dayyssss. Oh and TRUST me when I say, your school days are some of the best times of your life. It may not feel like it but honestly being an adult is scary and having a routine and unlimited support in school is something I would pay ££££ for. So enjoy school, don’t not listen because you think it’s funny to annoy the teacher and look cool; listen in class, make your notes, do your homework and get the education you deserve πŸ€ŒπŸ»

I remeber sitting in my room the entirety of first semester literally so miserable and sad because I didn’t want to go anywhere but I wish I had just pushed myself to get up and go !!  Stay organised  I cannot recommend a planner enough. I’m running a marathon !

Embarking on a marathon training journey can be both exhilarating and daunting, especially for beginners. As I dive into my second week using the Runna app, I've already reached an 8k distance and set new personal bests for both 5k and 6k! This experience has taught me a lot about the importance of structured training and listening to my body. For those just starting out, here are some essential tips to help you on your marathon training journey: 1. Start Slow and Build Gradually: It's tempting to push yourself too hard at the beginning, but it's crucial to build your mileage gradually. Aim to increase your weekly distance by no more than 10% to avoid injury. 2. Invest in Proper Gear: Having the right running shoes can make a significant difference. Visit a specialty store to get fitted for shoes that suit your foot type and running style. 3. Incorporate Different Types of Runs: Mix up your training with long runs, tempo runs, and interval training. This variety will help...
