Surviving uni πŸŽ€

Hi everyone !! Welcome to the third edition of this vlog πŸŽ€ today I’m going to be talking about surviving uni !!

If you knew me in first year you would have know that I stuggllleeedddd in first year !! Moving away from home and from my bubble of people really did shift something in me that I did not like at all πŸ₯² so, this is a little survival guide of how to survive first year πŸ’–

  1. Join in πŸ«Ά

I wish in first year that I had joined a society or attended events that my uni had hosted as this would of been a great way to make friends!! I remeber sitting in my room the entirety of first semester literally so miserable and sad because I didn’t want to go anywhere but I wish I had just pushed myself to get up and go !!

  1. Stay organised

I cannot recommend a planner enough. Uni is a complete shift from sixth form and you don’t have anyone holding your hand telling you when you have class or when your works due. It’s so important that you keep you uni work organised because it’s as simple as anything to fall behind in work and then you just end up giving up !!

  1. Celebrate small wins          Whether you woke up on time or made a meal yourself without burning it, congratulate yourself because YOU did it !! Living away from your parents and navigating life alone for the first time is scary and celebrating the small wins reminds us that we’re actually doing a great job at adulting !!

  1. Explore resources                     Take advantage of campus resources such as library’s, free events and mental health services. Any library is uni is equipped with thousands of research papers and books so make use of it !! Free events such as breakfast events or drink events are a great way to stay connected and meet people !! Uni can be hard and everyone struggles at least once, uni provides a free mental health service so make use of it when you have to πŸ«Ά

  1. Be adaptable                                Uni culture is so fast paced and plans can be made so quickly !! Be open to last minute plans or even plan changes and accept it. Last minute night outs are usually the most fun anyway πŸ˜‰

I could carry on for hours about how to survive uni but I’ll leave it at that for now πŸŽ€thank you so much for reading and as always let me know what you think πŸ«Ά

Girlhood 101 πŸŽ€πŸ₯‚

Girlhood 101   We all know that being a girl comes with a multitude of obstacles that only girls can relate to !! And that’s ok !! In todays blog post, and for my first, I thought talking about girlhood would be the perfect start  🌸🫢                                πŸŽ€πŸ©°πŸ’— When I look back at being a young girl, I wish I could have prepared little me for everything a teenage girl goes through; body image issues, friendship fall outs, first kisses and so many other things.                              πŸŒΈπŸ¦©πŸ’„ Navigating friendships through my teens was definitely a challenge. Through secondary school, I had a few different friendships groups. Falling out with your friends is completely normal and something every girl group goes through. It’s like a nasty fall out w...

I’m running a marathon !

Embarking on a marathon training journey can be both exhilarating and daunting, especially for beginners. As I dive into my second week using the Runna app, I've already reached an 8k distance and set new personal bests for both 5k and 6k! This experience has taught me a lot about the importance of structured training and listening to my body. For those just starting out, here are some essential tips to help you on your marathon training journey: 1. Start Slow and Build Gradually: It's tempting to push yourself too hard at the beginning, but it's crucial to build your mileage gradually. Aim to increase your weekly distance by no more than 10% to avoid injury. 2. Invest in Proper Gear: Having the right running shoes can make a significant difference. Visit a specialty store to get fitted for shoes that suit your foot type and running style. 3. Incorporate Different Types of Runs: Mix up your training with long runs, tempo runs, and interval training. This variety will help...
